The net return per enterprise is listed below. It is the return an average farm operator received for his/her labor management and equity per enterprise. For example: in 2001, the average farm operator had a net return of $-2.26 per acre on soybeans and a net return of $786 per dairy cow. Any net return generated from an enterprise is the return the operator gets to pay for his/her labor and management costs as well as return to equity in the business.
