School-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports
We’ve partnered with Minnesota Department of Education’s emphasis on School-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (Sw-PBIS). Sw-PBIS is a three-tier framework for meeting the educational needs of children. For more information on this three-tier framework, visit the Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports website.
Our work with Sw-PBIS stems from a 2007 ConnectU workshop on Classroom Behavior Management, as well as needs expressed by participants in subsequent ConnectU workshops and classroom teachers in SWROC K-12 programs.
University faculty presented a Tier II training to help teachers develop effective strategies for groups as well as individual students to support and encourage desired behaviors. The goal of the SWROC and Extension is to offer a Tier II yearly training to enhance and support the Sw-PBIS trainings provided by the SW/WC Service Cooperative.
